[12:24:58] kenbolton[m]: nah, agreen, that is considered normal & healthy behavior in the python community.
[12:25:43] kenbolton[m]: this is today's yikes: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17513709
[12:28:05] kenbolton[m]: re: guido, remember that the django BDFLs stepped down a few years ago and the software and processes continued to improve.
[13:19:56] gus_mustakas[m]: Is it really 2k? Sounds cool though...

[17:34:58] tim[m]2: joins
[17:38:15] jamie[m]1: That’s in 3.7 - right?
[17:38:22] tim[m]2: jamie thisgeek re brew: yikes.
[17:38:23] tim[m]2: My faith in brew isn't what it was. The way they handle updates can be sketchy. Similarly, if you follow their incredibly adamaent directions you can cause a bunch of problems that result in you needing to run `brew switch` for a whole chain installed software
[17:38:53] tim[m]2: Not a clue! Just saw that it was accepted. Im not up on what the latest release(s) are
[17:39:03] jamie[m]1: Yeah - I was really let down by brew this week
[17:40:55] tim[m]2: I had it adamently ask me to run brew upgrade, without a package specified (when just trying to update one package.). I knew better, but I thought maybe brew was smarter than me. Needless to say, I created a bit of work for myself that would pop up in different ways for the next week. :man-shrugging:
[17:41:58] thisgeek[m]: This is the first time I can recall that it let me down. From my point of view I'm still ready for forgiveness.
[17:42:28] thisgeek[m]: Also I suppose if I wanted to play it conservative I could have not used to brew to get the latest updates.
[17:42:43] jamie[m]1: re: PEP 572 - Doesn’t look like it is in 3.7 - it was just brought up in the same (slack) conversation here at work
[17:44:20] tim[m]2: Brew is still awesome on my book. I just realized it wasn't quite as flawless as I hoped
[17:45:30] jamie[m]1: using `brew edit` it was interesting to see the formula
